The LIFEPAK Infant/Child Starter Kit provides owners of the LIFEPAK® 500 AEDs with a pink connector (standard on AEDs built after 8/9/02) and/or any LIFEPAK CR Plus, LIFEPAK Express, or LIFEPAK® 1000, with the essentials for providing therapy for younger patients up to 8 years of age or 25kg (55lb).

The LIFEPAK Infant/Child electrode pads are smaller than the adult electrode pads, reducing the energy dosage delivered by a factor of four. This means that if your LIFEPAK AED is set up to deliver a dosage of 200, 300, 360J using the adult electrode pads, the dose will in turn be approximately 50, 75, 86J with the LIFEPAK Infant/Child electrode pads.

The LIFEPAK Infant/Child Starter Kit is strongly recommended for those wanting to include children in their AED program (which is highly recommended for locations in which children often frequent). While few children will ever be in need of defibrillation, the LIFEPAK Infant/Child Starter Kit provides you with the necessary tools to save the life of a young child.

Please note that the biphasic LIFEPAK® 500 AEDs that do not have pink connector plugs (inner lining on the AED's electrode receptacle) can be upgraded to accept the low-energy electrodes.
