Janet's Law Will Take Effect on January 1st in New Jersey Schools

Posted by Administrator on 11/20/2013 to AED News
Recently, New Jersey Governor Chris Christie signed a new law, Janet’s Law that will require all public and private schools in the state of New Jersey to have an AED onsite.

This law was created in honor of 11 year old Janet Zilinski, who died of sudden cardiac arrest after her cheerleading practice. Janet's Law also requires New Jersey schools to establish emergency action plans as well in the event someone may begin to suffer cardiac arrest.

Janet’s Law will come into effect beginning on January 1, 2014, which requires schools to equip themselves with an AED by September of 2014.

Need help on making sure you're school is compliant with the new law? Simply give us a call and any one of our team members will be more than happy to assist you with your AED program.
