A 22-year-old student of East Stroudsburg University was saved by an AED Tuesday afternoon. The AED that saved the student's life was purchased by a local nonprofit started by Rachel Moyer, whose 15-year-old Greg Moyer died December 2nd, 2000, from sudden cardiac arrest during halftime of a basketball game. "I can't even tell you how happy I was to hear the news," said Moyer.

A 65-year-old man was saved by a LIFEPAK CR Plus AED after suffering sudden cardiac arrest while working out at the Rice University Track and Field Stadium. Jon Warren, head coach for Rice University's Men's Track and Field, noticed the man collapse and immediately called medical professionals at 911. He then located one of Rice University's 30 LIFEPAK CR Plus AEDs, which he used to restore the man's heart rhythm.

A high school play of 'Jabberwock' was interrupted when an emergency presented itself before a full house. As the stage was live with the performance, Rachel Flaming, the play's Stage Manager, came on set to clear the actors and bring the lights up, announcing that an emergency was at hand and that help was needed. Nurse Robin Getz ran to the school's gymnasium to retrieve the school's AED, which she then used to revive the patient's heart rhythm.
Woman Saved by Officers on Dinner Break

A 55-year-old woman was saved by officers on their dinner break at a Pensacola, Florida, restaurant. Helen Clark collapsed while at dinner at Smokey's Real Pit Bar-B-Que, where, luckily, Escambia County deputies and Florida Highway Patrol Troopers were also dining. The officers rushed to help the fallen Clark, performing CPR while one of the officers ran to their patrol car and grabbed their AED. After using the AED, Clark's heart was revived. By the time paramedics arrived on the scene, Clark was able to personally thank the officers before being taken to Sacred Heart Hospital.
