Myths About Refurbished AEDs

Posted by Thomas Oliver on 5/13/2014 to Frequently Asked Questions

When you hear the term “refurbished AED,” what comes to mind? Most likely, you think of some AED that’s been used extensively and then wiped down, reboxed, and shipped out again.

At AEDs Today, this could not be farther from the truth. Refurbished AEDs provide the same level of protection as their new counterparts, but at a fraction of the price.

The fact is, there are probably a few things that you think you know about refurbished AEDs that are off the mark.

For example:

Refurbished AEDs aren’t necessarily used AEDs

Let’s get right to the big one: Most people assume that buying a refurbished AED is purely a cost-cutting measure, and that do so is to sacrifice quality and reliability in the name of saving a few bucks.

This is just simply not true.

At AEDs Today, we sell new AEDs to a wide variety of clients, including school, churches, corporations, and government entities. When these clients decide to upgrade their AEDs, they send the old ones back to us.

Here’s the thing, though. Most of the time, those AEDs have NEVER BEEN USED.  This is good news for two reasons:

1) It means that these clients have not found themselves in that life or death situation (although they are prepared for it).

2) That AED was taken out of the box brand new, placed in an AED case where it sat for a couple years, and then put back in the box and shipped back.

More often than not, the AEDs we get back are in perfect condition, and require only some inspection and routine maintenance before they’re ready to get back in the game.

Buying a refurbished AED doesn’t means buying accessories separately

Okay, so the refurbished AED has never been used. But you still have can’t get all the necessary accessories with it, right? Won’t you have to get those separately?

We sell all of our refurbished AEDs with all the necessary accessories included. No need to buy your batteries or electrodes separately, because we’ve got you covered.

In fact, some of our refurbished AEDs come with more than just the necessities. Some include carrying cases, CPR response kits, and even optional wall cabinets!

You can’t get a warrant with a refurbished AED

Alright, we’ve established that refurbished AEDs are basically unused AEDs, and also that you can get them with accessories included.

But there’s no way you can a warranty for it, right?

All of our refurbished AEDs come with a 1-year warranty, giving you the peace of mind that comes with knowing your equipment will work when that life or death moment comes.

And if that’s not enough, we also offer an optional upgrade to a 5-year warranty with the AEDs Today AED Concierge service.

It always pays to be prepared for anything, and with refurbished AEDs from AEDs today, you can do it at a great price without sacrificing quality or reliability!
