As with all of our School Packages, the Philips HeartStart OnSite School AED Package includes electrodes for adults and children alike. Should a child experience sudden cardiac arrest, simply equip your device with the included pediatric electrodes and you're ready to delivery lifesaving therapy to the child in need. Both sets of electrodes should be stored safely inside of the included AED cabinet and kept readily available at all times.
If the setting of your AED will be on the loud side, or should the device be readily available to the public (wich we strongly recommend), the alarm upgrade for your AED cabinet is likely a wise move. This ensures that if an emergency situation is at hand, those in the area will be more easily notified. In addition, the alarm also prevents tampering and/or theft of the device.
We also recommend schools equip themselves with medical oversight, provided via the AED Concierge Service. In short, this makes sure that your AED will work when needed, your school is fully compliant with state and federal laws concerning AED ownership and maintenance, and that any liability is kept to an absolute minimum.
