The town of Swansea, Massachusetts, has been designated a HeartSafe Community last week due to their efforts to improve cardiac care and save lives due to heart failure and sudden cardiac arrest. By spreading thirty-one AEDs throughout the town of Swansea, its community will be best prepared to save a life when in need.

Swansea has a proven "chain of survival," according to the established guidelines of the American Heart Association. According to the guidelines, the four lifesaving links are:
  1. Early Access
  2. Early CPR
  3. Early Defibrillation
  4. Early Advance Care
